Material Description
ETG 100 is normally supplied cold drawn in a high-strength condition, typically around 1000 MPa. Despite its high strength, its high sulphur content gives it very good machinability and good chip breaking. Sharp stainless-steel geometries can still work well, but general-purpose tools and geometries are usually a better choice. Where maximum tool life and edge stability are required, stronger grades and geometries intended for higher-strength, pre-hardened and even hardened steels can be advantageous.
