Material Description
Strenx 700 E is a high-strength, quenched-and-tempered structural steel typically supplied as plate, with a tensile strength of approximately 850 MPa. Although classified as a high-strength steel, its relatively low carbon content contributes to good machinability, making it behave more like a conventional medium- to high-strength steel. No special cutting tools are required, as commonly used universal carbide tools and geometries perform well. Its relatively high thermal conductivity allows higher cutting speeds compared to many other high-strength steels. For improved tool life and cutting-edge stability, more robust milling cutters designed for higher-strength steels can be beneficial, especially during heavy roughing, interrupted cuts, and demanding machining operations.
