Material Description

EN 1.6985 (28CrMoNiV4-9) is a low-alloy, heat-resistant steel designed for large turbine rotors, shafts and other highly stressed components operating at elevated temperatures. It is typically supplied quenched and tempered, offering good toughness, creep resistance and mechanical strength. For roughing operations, conventional universal cutting tools designed for standard steels are fully suitable, with no special tooling required. For lighter machining and finishing operations, sharper cutting tools designed for stainless steels can also be used effectively.
