Material Description
EN 1.6957 (27NiCrMoV15-6) is a high-strength nickel-chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel primarily used for large turbine rotors, shafts and highly stressed forged components. It is typically supplied quenched and tempered, offering high strength, excellent hardenability and good toughness even in large cross-sections. For machining, universal cutting tools suitable for medium- to high-strength steels are generally recommended, while cutting tools designed for hardened steels can also be used to achieve longer tool life.
