Material Description

EN 1.6945 (22CrMoNiWV8-8) is a low-alloy, creep-resistant steel designed for large turbine rotors, shafts and other highly stressed components operating at elevated temperatures. In the quenched-and-tempered condition, its machining behaviour is comparable to conventional medium- to high-strength steels, making universal cutting tools with suitable steel geometries a good choice. Tools designed for higher-strength steels can be used for improved edge stability and tool life, while specialized hardened-steel tools are generally unnecessary at typical delivery strengths.
