Material Description
EN 1.4460 (AISI 329) is a high-strength duplex stainless steel combining good corrosion resistance with an austenitic-ferritic microstructure. For machining, sharp universal cutting tools are recommended, with reduced cutting speeds due to the material's low thermal conductivity. Tools designed specifically for stainless steels also perform well, but their typically sharper and less robust cutting edges may result in shorter tool life compared to sharp universal tools, especially due to the material's higher strength.
