Material Description

EN 1.2381 (73MoV5-2) is a high-carbon, molybdenum-vanadium alloyed cold-work tool steel characterized by good wear resistance, high hardness after heat treatment and resistance to torsional loading. It is commonly used for screwdrivers, bits, Allen keys, punches and other industrial tools. In the annealed condition, conventional universal cutting tools suitable for medium- to high-strength steels are generally recommended, with no specialized hardened-steel tooling required, but for longer tool life are usable.
