Material Description
1.2344 / H13 at around 54 HRC is a hardened hot-work tool steel and should generally be machined with tools, grades and geometries designed for hardened materials. Robust universal geometries may still work in favourable conditions, but at this hardness they are already outside their ideal range and can wear or chip quickly. The simplest and most reliable choice is therefore a protected, wear-resistant cutting edge specifically intended for hardened steels.
